This week, I write to you from Washington, D.C. I’m in Washington to attend the U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting, meet with White House staff, members of Congress, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff.
I am here advocating for additional support for our ports, infrastructure, our educational institutions, and for support to move forward on the breakwater / ecosystem restoration study.
In the last few days I’ve already had the chance to talk tech and trade with mayors from around the country, and I’ve had several productive meetings with Federal representatives. I am looking forward to more in coming days.
This is my first visit to Washington D.C. as your Mayor, and it’s an honor to represent Long Beach in our nation’s capital.
Later this week I will also be attending a reception at the White House with the President and I look forward to representing Long Beach at the event.
